Do you have expertise on a particular topic but no one knows it? Would you like to become an expert? On my Stretching A Dollar For Entrepreneurs Show, I had an interesting discussion about becoming an expert in your particular industry. It is not as hard as many of us may think. Here are three free and easy ways to become an expert:

  • Volunteer to speak at various business groups. It has been said that one of the greatest fears that people have is the fear of giving a speech in public. Until now! By speaking to various business groups, you increase exposure not only for yourself but also for your business. Likewise, you can gain free publicity by being included in the business group’s e-newsletter, website, or press release to the media. Did I mention this is free? Need to polish your speaking skills? Find and join a Toastmasters organization in your area. This is a great way to stretch a dollar to save!
  • Volunteer to be a guest on internet radio talk shows. Don’t feel comfortable speaking to groups in public? No problem! Why not volunteer to be a guest on an internet radio talk show? Not only can listeners listen to the show live but those who missed the show can download and listen to it on mobile devices such as iPods, iPhones, netbooks, and more. How do you get started? Do your research by listening to shows that are a good fit for your area of expertise and contact the show’s host about being a guest. The only thing that s/he can say is no and you’re no worse off than before you started. Start searching today for shows on Blogtalkradio.com that you could be a guest.
  • Become an expert on LinkedIn Answers. You are probably already using LinkedIn so why not use it to position yourself as an expert. By answering questions on LinkedIn Answers, not only can you share your expertise with others but also become an expert at the same time.

There are many other ways to become an expert but these are just a few to get you started. Want more? Checkout my show on Blogtalkradio for more tips.
